Alan and Ruth Dickey, with their children, Joel and Rachel, have been living in India since August 2008. Alan teaches in the Technology department of Hebron School while Ruth works in the school clinic. Hebron School is an international school situated in the Nilgiri Hills in South India. |
The school campus is in the town of Ootacamund in Tamil Nadu. It teaches English National Curriculum to A-level and caters for 370 pupils. Most of the pupils are children of Christian worker families who serve across South and East Asia, mostly in India and Bangladesh, although some are in Japan and Mongolia. There are some children from business families also. The large majority of pupils board at the school; the boys live at Lushington which is the main school campus, while the girls live at Selbourne which is a 15 minute walk away. Alan and Ruth also help out with the Year 10 boys dorm, called Ebenezer (from 1st Samuel 7 v 12 and not after Scrooge), and are involved in other activites like Duke of Edinburgh and leading student Bible studies.
