The need is great…. people are still starving in the midst of Covid-19.  Storehouse continues to provide food parcels to those in need within the Greater Belfast area.  Unfortunately, they have had to stop all the social activities at the Storehouse Centre in North Street but they have an amazing band of volunteers who are still sorting, packing and distributing food to anyone who needs it.  Of course, with their main providers (churches, schools and businesses) closed, their stock of food in the warehouse is depleted, and so more than ever they desperately need our support.

We, as a church, have decided to continue as best we can to provide non-perishable food items and toiletries.

Our garage (at 122 North Road) will be open every Saturday morning between 10am and 12noon for people to drop off their donations. Just leave them on the table! These are then brought to the warehouse on Monday morning.  This has worked amazingly well over the last 5 weeks and we have been overwhelmed with the response.  Of course, we’re aware that not everyone can get to a shop to buy food and so a cash donation can be made online via their website should you wish to do that.

Some church folk posted a note through their neighbours’ doors and sent WhatsApp messages to their community group inviting them to leave donations on their doorsteps for Storehouse – this had an amazing response!  Perhaps you’d like to try that?!  If you’d like more info, please contact me.

Our specific item for May is PASTA SAUCE – however any food item would be gratefully received.  Thank you for your support.
