Who are the Junior Section?

The Junior Section is for boys in P5-P7 (ages 9-11)

What do they do?

Juniors have fun! Junior Section is about having fun, making friends, enjoying lots of activities and trying new things.

On a Monday evening the boys take part in a programme made up of a variety of activities, which include games, sporting activities, craft, quizzes, cookery, marching/drill and bible time, and many of these activities contribute towards their award badges which are presented at the annual inspection around Easter time.

Juniors also get to:

  • go on outings such as to 10 Pin Bowling, the cinema, etc,
  • take part in South & East Belfast Group and Belfast Battalion competitions such as potted sports, five aside football, orienteering, mini cross country, quizzes, public speaking, swimming and music
  • help raise money for nominated charities

Through the many different activities it is hoped they will:

  • learn about themselves
  • get to know people and learn to work together
  • explore their community
  • personally develop
