Dear friends,
Do you remember where you were when
John F Kennedy was shot?
When Diana was killed?
When 9/11 took place?
Each of these events shook the world and after each event there was a surge in church attendance.
(well for a short time anyway)
Let me ask another question:-
Can you remember where you were when you first heard about Covid 19?
The chances are you can’t and yet it has turned out to be the single most pressing event to have touched our lives during this past year, but unlike the traumatic events of 1963,1997 and 2001 the Corona Virus has managed to empty the churches, not fill them.
(at least temporarily)
As a church community we are learning how to adapt and adjust to this season of change unlike any most of us have experienced before and you have done so magnificently.
But has this pandemic, the quarantine and the post quarantine period caught God by surprize?
Not at all!
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth!”
– Isaiah 40 v28
There is a God in Heaven who knows all things and is in charge of all things. Take courage!
He knows what he’s doing among us.
