At long last, after much frustration and delays over 6 years, demolition of Walkway has began to make way for a new community centre in Finvoy Street. The contractor is R J McKelvey and it is planned to complete the project within a year. The old portacabins had served their purpose well beyond what they were designed for. Walkway staff are sad to see them go as they held so many memories. However, they are all excited and looking forward to what the new centre will enable them to do in the future for our community.
