Dear friends,

In anticipation of Mother’s Day, I want to speak to fathers.
What’s the best gift you can give to your wife and to your children this coming Sunday?
Flowers? Gifts? Make-up?

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”
– Ephesians 5:25.

That’s what we can give them. Sacrificial, strong, selfless love.

God never asks of us what he does not also show us and in Jesus we see what the costly wounds of love look like. They look like Christ at the Cross. Sacrificial, strong and selfless.
How profound then when our children take time to produce a video in order to sing of those qualities that are of eternal value and remind us of those things that truly matter.
When it’s the young people of our congregation who prompt the older people of the sheer foolishness of investing lives in mere ‘things,’ which like fame and youth and beauty quickly hurry by. This Mothering Sunday, Fathers:- settle for nothing less. Demonstrate to our wives and children the veracity of the greatest treasure available:- sacrificial, strong and selfless.
Jesus, the wellspring of our souls.

Sincerely. Frank
