Update on Congregational Meeting:
Apologies for a change to what was intimated last Sunday pertaining to a Congregational meeting to ratify the election of newly nominated elders.
According to The Code of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, the Moderator (minister) must inform the congregation on two successive Sundays the names of those persons who have received the requisite number of congregational votes. Should any voter desire to make any objection to any of them, they shall lodge their objections, with reasons in writing to the Moderator of Kirk Session (the minister) within a week from the second announcement.
Provided there be no objection, or the objection not be sustained by Kirk Session, there shall be an official meeting of the congregation not earlier than three weeks after the first reading of the list, to confirm the election and call of the new ruling elders.
