Work to the new annexe continued well over the winter and we were delighted to be informed that our completion date was Friday 21st February. This was two months ahead of schedule. We hope that the disruption during the building period hasn’t been too difficult for our neighbours.
The congregation are delighted with our new complex and the new facilities are already in use. The design along with the attractive use of colours for furnishings makes for a very comfortable building. The main kitchen in the new annexe is well equipped and along with the servery in the Megaw Hall and a tea point on the 1st floor ensures that plenty of cups of tea will be made!!
On Sunday 1st March after morning service, a short dedication service was conducted by our minister Rev Dr Frank Sellar, which was attended by the congregation in the staircase/landing area as the photographs show.
The official opening is planned for Saturday 13th June.
Unfortunately, we only had a few weeks in which to enjoy our new facilities before the lockdown due to the coronavirus took hold. However we are very thankful for both our contractors and ourselves that the building work was finished almost 2 months ahead of schedule.
If the work hadn’t been completed by the 23rd March the handover would not have been possible.
Our official opening is now planned for January 2021.
